Word of the Day: DEZINCIFICATION

The word of the day today is: DEZINCIFICATION

For home owners, property owners, landlords and tenants in single family homes this is something to be concerned about and keep an eye out for. Issues with deterioration of high zinc brass fittings used with PEX, CPVC and Kitec piping between 1998 and 2010 in new construction and re-piping projects have surfaced increasingly over the last 2-3 years.  This is a manufacturer’s issue and can result in significant plumbing leakage and water damage.  Preventive measures such as having an engineer inspect your home’s plumbing fittings to ensure proper fittings were used, or replacing the fittings known to be defective could prove to save you from the expense of repairing resulting water damage when deterioration occurs.

We are thankful that our associates at Bach & Associates brought this issue up for discussion with our organization and now we are all better informed to help our clients.  For information visit or contact www.bachassociates.com
