Happy Halloween – Make it A Safe One!

It’s Halloween and that means trick-or-treating, costumes, candy and lots of fun. But it is also a good time to remember to be safe.  A lot of people still put candles in their pumpkins and use them as decorations, so follow these guidelines to keep yourself and your children safe from fire.

I still remember my parents warning us not to eat the candy before they could be inspected. I figured that was just because either my dad wanted to eat it or they didn’t want me to eat my whole pillowcase full of candy in one night. But it really is a  legitimate concern even from the US Consumer Product Safety Commission – they also have some good tips on how to choose safe houses to visit, walking to and from each house and costume design ideas.  And for the last tip, the CDC has a nice list of SAFE HALLOWEEN tips.

Bottom line, be safe, have fun and don’t eat too much candy!  BOO!
