Seattle Neighborhoods Recieve Grants For Improvements

Several Seattle neighborhoods will recieve grant money for improvements around business districs. Reported today from the Puget Sound Business Journal, Seattle has awarded $1.6 Million in grants to various neighborhoods to help clean up litter and graffiti, help with marketing promotions and improve lighting and other area improvement projects. The lucky neighborhoods that will recieve this grant money include: Ballard, Beacon Hill, Capitol Hill, Central Area, Chinatown/International District, Columbia City, Georgetown, Madison Valley, MLK (Othello & Graham), Pike and Pine downtown, Pioneer Square, Rainier Beach, Roosevelt, South Park, University District, Wallingford and White Center.

For these areas, this money will improve the overall districts and increase jobs. The communities will come together to help build the neighborhood and hopefully build a stronger sense of community. We will be keeping an eye on these neighborhoods in the months and years to come and see how they are improving. For more information on grants and funding for your neighborhood, click here.
