Rental Market in the Puget Sound Area

apt_for_rentThere is no slow down in the rental market these days and because of that landlords and developers are able to charge rents that are competitive around the city. As reported in this article from Seattle Times, because of the increases in rent around the city and outlying areas, renters are looking for properties that are either outside of the downtown Seattle corridor, or they are making exceptions. The couple in this article have chosen a smaller apartment because it is in Capitol Hill and the features in the neighborhood and the shorter commute make it affordable to rent, rather than heading to the suburbs and having a longer commute. This map shows the varying rental rates across the Puget Sound and could be a helpful tool when looking for a new rental property.
