Micro Housing is a new trend that is becoming a lot more common in Seattle and across the country. We have talked about the concept of Mirco Homes before here. The idea of living with less things and in a smaller home is not always for everyone, but is a very efficient way of living. For instance, this renter lives in the very desirable Wallingford neighborhood. His rent is almost half the price of the median rent in the area and he shares the kitchen, but it works for him. Apartments in cities like New York tend to be smaller and more expensive than a lot of the apartments Seattle renters are used to, but the trend is growing in areas like Chicago, Boston and LA, people are realizing that it is not necessarily about the size of your home and how many things you can fit into it, but more about the location and what you have around you, this article highlights a new building near Hollywood that attracts actors and musicians that are just getting started.

Here is an example of what Micro Housing would look like in Boston.

But there is always a flip side to every story, and some folks are not pleased with the new buildings popping up all over our local neighborhoods, more units means more people, which means more cars and could in turn bring property values down. Either way it is an interesting investigation, here are some more examples to explore.
