Micro-Houses are Moving In

micro housingThe regulations for micro-housing in Seattle are being discussed by the Seattle City Council and should be completed this summer. This article and video from King 5 News discusses the impact that micro-housing has on the areas and neighborhoods that they are built in. Not all existing neighbors are looking forward to this change, having 40 new people in a small unit means more cars and density on the roads, which causes more traffic and a lot more congestion. On the other side of the argument, those that are interested in the smaller, newer units are looking forward to the low rent and simple living. There are currently waiting lists for people that are interested in the new micro-houses. We will have to wait for a few more months to see how the new regulations will affect the impact of this new housing trend.
