Top Real Estate Regrets

If you are in the market to purchase a new home or moving into a new rental, you might want to check out this article from Forbes. They have spelled out the Top 4 Real Estate Regrets many new homeowners and renters find out when they have already moved in. The main issues they have outlined include: 1. Space: making sure you have enough room for all your stuff. A simple way to fix this issue is to get rid of the things you don’t need before you move. This will help you have a fresh start in your new place. People have way more processions then they actually need. Moving is a great opportunity to purge. Number 2 regret is: Not having any money left. Before buying or renting, create a budget and include any unexpected items or issues that come up. Ask your new landlord and your real estate agent about any costs that might come up that you may not be aware of and include those too. Then most importantly, stick to your budget. The number 3 regret: Not meeting your neighbors. Your new home may be beautiful, but what about the house next door? Is it well maintained? Do they have yappy dogs? Are there other issues about the neighborhood you can discover if you chat with the neighbors? A neighborhood survey is a great way to introduce yourself and ensure you are making the right choice about your new home. The last regret is testing your commute. Are you prepared to sit in hours of traffic to get to and from your perfect home? The best way to test this is during your normal commuting hours, try it out and make sure it is something you are willing to do daily.
