Evictions Levels Down

evictionAccording to reports from TransUnion SmartMove, the number of apartment evictions in 2014 was the lowest in any year since 2009. The numbers are not changing at huge rate, but the fact that the numbers are moving from approximately 3.43 million in 2009, down a small amount to 3.41 million evictions in 2014, is a nice change for property managers and landlords, especially those with multiples buildings. The average eviction costs landlords almost $1700, but these numbers are also declining. This article from MultiHousing News, has more statistics on evictions and the impact on landlords and tenants.
