Housing Prices in Seattle May Force People to Find Homes Outside of King County

The housing prices in Seattle have been increasing all summer long and they continue to go up. Home buyers in the Seattle area are looking to Kitsap, Snohomish and Pierce Counties for new homes and more space. This article from the Port Orchard Independent has more information on the rise housing demand in the areas outside of Seattle. Home buyers that would be commuting into Seattle for work need to decide if a longer commute is worth more space and lower housing prices. Those that find housing on Bainbridge Island might be able to trade a freeway commute for ferry commuting, although, as the article suggests, housing prices on Bainbridge Island are creeping up to the same area as houses in Seattle.

Finding the right house can be difficult, especially when you have higher prices to keep in mind, in addition to all the wants and needs you want in your new home. If you are in the market to buy or sell a home or condo, contact the real estate professionals at Phillips for more information on what your options may be.
