More Homeless Encampments Opening in Seattle

The homeless encampment in Ballard on Market Street is now up and running. Shelters and tents homelesshave been set up and they are accepting and grateful for any and all donations. Just a few miles south of the Ballard encampment the next of three tent cities will also be opening soon, the Interbay Camp is another city-sanctioned homeless camp expected to accommodate 80 people in Interlay. Although Mayor Murray understands that not everyone is happy about these encampments, but the hope is that a city-sponsored camp could lead to homeless people getting help with the problems that contributed to their plight, such as mental-health issues or drug and alcohol abuse. As the weather continues to get colder this winter, these camps will help save lives of people on the streets.
