This article from the Seattle Times yesterday, highlights how Amazon is offering a building that they own (one of the many they have purchased for their downtown Seattle expansion) to the non-profit organization Mary’s Place, which will provide housing to homeless families in Seattle. The housing will be temporary for the families, but they will be able to stay together in the evenings and have a safe place to call home for a short time. The shelter is open in the evenings on the weekdays, and 24 hours on the weekends, so the kids can stay in their pj’s if they want to on Saturdays. Although it is not permanent, it is a great start to helping those and needs and a wonderful contribution from a company that is making a huge impact on the city.
