Affordable Housing with Food Bank and Rooftop Veggie Garden

The need for affordable housing is ever present in the Seattle area, this article from the Daily Journal of Commerce highlights a new low income housing property that will be opening soon in the University District, the building will house the University District Food Bank on the ground floor.  There will also be a rooftop garden that will supply vegetables and herbs to the food bank, and will also will have a kitchen for cooking classes. The four-story building will have 20 units for homeless young adults, five units for homeless couples or a parent and child, 23 workforce units and a manager’s unit.
